The similarity in all these films was the psychological issues and battles they had for example in American Psycho the main character is a nonchalant person who is not gonna lie crazy, then in the prestige both magicians are basically going crazy over having the better trick, and lastly in whiplash the frustration and overall determination of the main character are the intended psychological issue. All these movies were very different with one being horror, the other science fiction, and the last one whiplash just a psychological drama.
Watching these movies helped me make some changes to my film opening which I have yet to fully plan but they assisted my by showing me how to deliver my select message and how to actually make a psychological drama. I truly did enjoy watching these films and I would like to research some more film openings to see how I can be successful with mine.
Also I researched a bit more on how to make a successful psychological drama and here is what I found that actually helped me. First of all develop a character that is believable what I mean by this is that my character must resemble someone real and be a character that my audience can actually believe is real. Next is to create intriguing secondary characters, for example characters that would most possibly make a change in my character or actually effect the plot. And lastly choose my ending carefully, although I already built my plot this helped me take into consideration if I was actually happy with my plot.
